Braun mr5550mbc hc multiquick is a powerful hand blender. It will puree soups in zero time. Great features include easy cleanup in the dishwasher and the traditional blender attachment. I researched many different brands until I settled on the Braun for the design of the blade housing. Many brands have small holes around the blade housing to allow liquids to flow through while blending. My previous hand blender had these and they would CLOG every time I used them to blend something fibrous (like butternut squash). I always had to clean out the holes mid-use. The Braun has a nice fluid design that does not clog. This hand blender works through frozen strawberries without any trouble and lets us prepare smoothies very easily and relatively silently. It can be used not only in the containers that come in the box, but on any other pan or pot, it is ver flexible! I like the fact that the main wand is dishwasher proof. Braun MR5550MBC works better. The whisk is geared down from the direct drive and is powerful, effective and faster.

This is so handy in kitchen: quick to take to mix, chop, puree and so easy to clean. It purees so easily all the fruits and veggies. The little plastic bowl in which the blender fits perfectly is best for that use. You can also puree vegetable soups straight in the hot pots that cook them in and it does great work and soups become so creamy. The 400 Watts is over half a horsepower, but there's an easy to use speed control on the top, so you don't have to be concerned about it running away from you. If 'Home Improvement' made a hand blender this would be it. It has more power than the Kitchen Aid Artisan, pretty much the standard in the US, with 400 Watts as opposed to the Artisan's 325 Watts. I found blending and chopping hardly loads this device, it has as much power as a good electric drill.

All the attachments are first rate and work as advertised. A standard food processor and blender will always be a regular part of any serious cook's/chef's kitchen appliances, (they all have their place,  no single appliance does everything in exactly the way that various food requirements may dictate. The small incremental changes in speed and power afforded by the dial on the top of the blender is most welcome as it allows for precise control depending on the specific food item(s) you are blending, chopping, etc. Plus, for even more convenience, the TURBO button gives access to immediate full power. The wall mount is a nice feature that keeps the blender nearby and handy yet off the counter area. This blender is easily the best of the bunch at a very reasonable price. The chopper and whisk work great and are true time savers. It makes food prepartation a snap. I recommend this as an investment of time and money. I really recommed this product.
